Former SNL star Cecily Strong pulled out last minute from performing in Saturday’s cold open sketch targeting GOP Rep. Elise Stefanik.

The sketch focused on a recent Congressional hearing on anti-Semitism in colleges, criticizing Stefanik’s questions and the college leaders for their testimonies.

Despite the hearing culminating in a university president resigning, SNL largely took aim at Stefanik. (Trending: LeBron James Shares Gun Advice For Americans)

There have been calls for the resignation of university presidents and allegations of plagiarism on a Harvard dissertation.

Conservatives online reacted negatively to the SNL sketch.

“I mean, I get that SNL is typically a mess, but how do you watch that hearing and come out of it thinking Stefanik was the right target of satire?” Emily Zanotti posted on X.

Radio host Rob Carson wrote, “If there is no truth in satire, it’s not funny. This isn’t funny.”

“How to explain SNL siding with Ivy league (sic) neo-racists? Wondering what colleges their writers attended,” Fox News host Greg Gutfeld said.
