The Israeli military is intensifying efforts to crush Hamas and its leadership, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claiming that dozens of militants have surrendered.
The U.N. Security Council’s cease-fire resolution was vetoed by the U.S., leading to an emergency meeting by the U.N. General Assembly.

Netanyahu said the world witnessing “the beginning of the end” for Hamas and their leader, Yahya Sinwar.
“They lay down their weapons and surrender themselves to our heroic warriors,” Netanyahu said in a broadcast.
“It will take more time, the war is in full swing, (but) I say to the Hamas terrorists it is over. Don’t die for Sinwar. Surrender − now,” he added.
There are reports of stripped Palestinian detainees, and Hamas is urging a global strike in protest against the Israeli occupation.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the Biden administration was “deeply aware of the terrible human toll” the war was taking on civilians, including women and children. But he said Israel’s effort to eliminate Hamas was a legitimate objective.
He claimed the conflict would end if Hamas “got out of the way of civilians instead of hiding behind them.”
“When it comes to a cease-fire in this moment, with Hamas still alive, still intact, and again, with the stated intent of repeating Oct. 7 again and again and again, that would simply perpetuate the problem,” Blinken added.
The conflict has strained international relations, with Israel expressing dissatisfaction with Russia’s position at the U.N.
The World Health Organization has called for humanitarian relief and emphasized the need for a cease-fire to ensure peace and health.
The war has led to significant displacement and casualties in Gaza, with a high number of internally displaced Palestinians and casualties, while Israeli authorities report casualties and hostages.
