Time Magazine named Taylor Swift the “Person of the Year” for 2023. Conservative commentator Jon Root criticized Swift for her music video “You Need to Calm Down,” which depicted anti-Christian and “pride” themes.

The video concluded with a message advocating for equal treatment under the law.

Time’s acknowledgment of Swift merely gauges perceived influence and does not represent a moral endorsement. (Trending: Hunter Biden Indicted on 9 New Criminal Charges)

In the song, Swift sings, “Why are you mad? When you could be GLAAD? Sunshine on the street at the parade, but you would rather be in the Dark Ages.”

“Here’s a quick reminder of what Taylor Swift thinks about Christians …,” Root posted.

Swift’s video mocks Christians who hold biblical views on social issues, such as marriage.

The full video for “You Need to Calm Down” amplified the anti-Christian and “pride” themes.

“Let’s show our pride by demanding that, on a national level, our laws truly treat all of our citizens equally,” was the message at the end of the video.

Swift’s lyrics promote self-acceptance, which some have criticized as encouraging self-worship.
