Top NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines testified before Congress, responding to comments about learning to “lose gracefully.”

She highlighted her sports achievements and emphasized her ability to accept defeat graciously.

The hearing also addressed proposed changes to Title IX, broadening the definition of sex to include “gender identity,” potentially allowing biological males who identify as trans to compete in women’s sports. (Trending: Democrat Accused Of Blocking Release of Jeffrey Epstein Flight Logs)

“Just for the record, I have lost gracefully many times in my career,” admitted Gaines.

“Even speaking to the incident of Thomas and I, at the national championships, we tied for fifth — granted, fifth in the entire nation, so it’s still an incredible achievement,” she continued.

“But there were four women who beat me. I’m incredibly proud of those women who beat me.”

Adding, “So, I certainly can and have lost gracefully many times in my career.”

Rep. James Comer called out Goss Graves’ criticism saying, “I know we had a witness on the panel who suggested you should have just ‘lost gracefully,’” the Republican said. “I think that’s a slap in the face to any athlete who works so hard.”

The discussion revealed differing perspectives on the impact of these changes, with some expressing concerns about the fairness of competition and privacy issues.
