House Republicans plan to vote on formalizing the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden to strengthen subpoena power over the administration.
The vote, scheduled for the week of December 10, is seen as a test for Republican unity, with the measure needing nearly all Republican support.
House Speaker Mike Johnson emphasized that the decision is a legal and constitutional one, not a political one, and that formalizing the inquiry is necessary to obtain information blocked by the White House. (Trending: Elon Musk Condemns Arrest Of Jan 6 Protester)

“All the moderates in our conference understand this is not a political decision,” Johnson said.
“This is a legal decision. This is a constitutional decision. And whether someone is for or against impeachment is of no import right now.”
“We have to continue our legal responsibility, and that is solely what this vote is about,” he added.
The move comes amid concerns over alleged political interference in the Justice Department’s investigation into Hunter Biden.
