The White House announced $4.8 billion in student debt relief for over 80,000 individuals, contributing to the total student debt cancellation of $132 billion for 3.6 million Americans under the Biden administration.
The relief includes efforts to fix the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program and adjustments to the Income-Driven Repayment plan.
Despite the Supreme Court’s rejection of a large-scale forgiveness plan, Biden continues to pursue alternative paths for delivering relief to borrowers. (Trending: Biden Bank Records Reveal Another Massive Bombshell)
“In the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision on our student debt relief plan, we are continuing to pursue an alternative path to deliver student debt relief to as many borrowers as possible as quickly as possible,” promised Biden.
Biden emphasized his commitment to improving the student loan system and providing relief to borrowers.
“From Day One of my Administration, I vowed to improve the student loan system so that a higher education provides Americans with opportunity and prosperity – not unmanageable burdens of student loan debt,” Biden claimed in a statement.
“I won’t back down from using every tool at our disposal to get student loan borrowers the relief they need to reach their dreams,” he added.
