During a town hall with FOX News host Sean Hannity, former President Donald Trump stated that he would not abuse power as retribution against anyone, except for day one of his second term if elected.
He mentioned plans to close the border and drill extensively on that day, but assured that he would not act as a dictator after that.
Sean Hannity began, saying, “We almost have to go to a break. I want to go back to this one issue because the media has been focused on this and attacking you under no circumstances.” (Trending: Tucker Reveals The Moment He Became A Full-Blown Trump Supporter)
“You are promising America tonight you would never abuse power as retribution against anybody?”
“Except for day one,” Trump said.
“Except for –” Hannity began.
“[John Kerry] is going to prison. Except for day one,” Trump pressed.
“Meaning?” Hannity asked.
“I want to close the border and I want to drill, drill, drill,” Trump said.
“That is not retribution,” Hannity responded.
“I’m going to be — I love this guy. You are not going to be a dictator, are you? I said no, no other than day one. We’re closing the border and we’re drilling, drilling, drilling. After that, I’m not a dictator,” Trump said.
“That sounds like you’re going back to the policies when you were president,” Hannity said.
