The president of the National Women’s Law Center testified in Congress that women should accept losing to transgender competitors in sports.

She argued that trans students participate in sports for similar reasons as other kids and deserve the benefits of Title IX.

The issue arose after a transgender swimmer’s domination in the NCAA championships and a biological male’s success in the London Marathon. (Trending: Trump Announces Major Promise For 2024)

“Because it is fun, because it creates belonging, community, because it teaches so much about persistence, leadership and discipline, and last, they learn to lose gracefully and often, win with dignity,” Fatima Goss Graves said.

“We at NWLC know unequivocally that trans women and girls, and intersex women and girls, are women and girls who deserve the full benefits and opportunities intended by Title IX,” Graves wrote.

Testimonies at the hearing included a clash between a swimmer and a Democratic representative.
