Senator John Fetterman criticized anti-Israel protesters for targeting a Jewish-owned restaurant in Philadelphia, calling it “pathetic and rank antisemitism.”
He emphasized that the protesters should focus on condemning Hamas’ actions, including the systematic rape of Israeli women and girls and the taking of hostages.
Fetterman has been vocal in his support of Israel since the October 7th massacre and has called for the release of all hostages. (Trending: Elon Musk Condemns Arrest Of Jan 6 Protester)
“Protestors in Philadelphia stand outside of a Jewish & Israeli owned falafel restaurant,” Jordan Van Glish posted.
“‘Goldie, Goldie you can’t hide, we charge you with genocide.’”
“They could be protesting Hamas,” Fetterman wrote.
“They could be protesting Hamas’ systematic rape of Israeli women and girls or demanding the remaining hostages be immediately released. Instead, they targeted a Jewish restaurant.”
“It’s pathetic and rank antisemitism.”
“In my front office I have displayed the posters of the innocent Israelis kidnapped by Hamas. They will stay up until every single person is safely returned home,” he said separately.
However, he has faced resistance from within his own party, with Rep. Pramila Jayapal warning about potential loss of support from the hard left if Democrats continue to support Israel.
