The head of Poland’s National Security Bureau, Jacek Siewiera, warns that NATO needs to demonstrate readiness to deter Russian aggression within a three-year timeframe, rather than the ten-year estimate put forward by some German assessments.
He emphasized the need for NATO to signal its military capability to deter aggression, considering Russia’s potential to regenerate its military force within three years.
The expert’s remarks come amid concerns about potential cuts in military spending by the incoming Polish government. (Trending: Elon Musk Condemns Arrest Of Jan 6 Protester)

Dziennik Polska-Europa-Świat reports Siewiera asserted the Russian arms industry “is able to rebuild resources within the next three years.”
Siewiera later clarified his remarks and said: “To avoid war with Russia, countries on [NATO’s] eastern flank should adopt a 3-year time horizon to prepare for confrontation”.
Finnish Brigadier-General Vesa Valtonen added, “We lasted alone for 105 days… The last third of the war was looking like Ukraine is now: attrition. Our side didn’t have reserves. The other side has or had them. There are 40 million people in Ukraine. How are they going to [keep up] the mobilization and such?”

“Are we willing to produce enough ammunition so that they can keep on fighting? This is a long-term period. We can’t give up,” he insisted.
“You can’t win a war of attrition against Russia.” lamented the general.
Additionally, there are warnings about NATO’s preparedness to counter Russian aggression, with concerns raised about the ability to win the early stages of a conflict on the eastern flank.
