Rep. Jim Jordan, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, discussed a report revealing the FBI’s plan to monitor Catholics for suspected domestic terrorism.
The https://www.stateofunion.org/2023/12/717896/ detailed interviews with a priest and choir director despite lacking a legitimate basis.
Jordan highlighted the FBI’s actions, including a raid on a pro-life activist’s home and subsequent arrest for behavior outside an abortion clinic, which Pennsylvania authorities had previously declined to prosecute. (Trending: Joe Biden Admits He’s ‘Not Sure’ About Running If Trump Wasn’t)
He connected these events to President Biden’s speech in 2022, where he labeled “MAGA Republicans” as a “threat to democracy.”
“Remember when Joe Biden stood in front of Independence Hall and talked about how one half of the country is fascist?” Jordan asked.
“It’s this whole mindset. If you’re pro-life, if you’re a traditional Catholic, somehow you’re radical, somehow you’re an extremist,” he continued.
“This is part of the Justice Department that said, if you’re a mom and dad going to a school board meeting, you’re an extremist as well… this is what’s so scary,” confessed the lawmaker.
Jordan also criticized the FBI’s behavior and questioned the agency’s relocation plans, emphasizing bipartisan concerns over the site selection for a proposed new headquarters.
