Former NFL player Michael Oher has accused the Tuohy family, who took him in as a teenager and inspired the movie “The Blind Side,” of stealing money from him and not giving him his fair share of the movie’s proceeds.
Oher also claimed that the family lied to him about wanting to adopt him.
However, the author of the original book believes that Oher received all the money due to him. (Trending: Elon Musk Condemns Arrest Of Jan 6 Protester)
“They said the only way Michael could go to Ole Miss was if he was actually part of the family,” Sean Tuohy told CBS.
“…We contacted lawyers who had told us that we couldn’t adopt over the age of 18,” claimed the patriarch.
“The only thing we could do was to have a conservatorship,” he explained.
Adding, “We were so concerned it was on the up-and-up that we made sure the biological mother came to court.”
“It was 10 million now I want 15 after taxes,” Oher allegedly texted the Tuohys.
“Get with Fred and get my money together,” Oher allegedly demanded.
“If something isn’t resolve (sic) this Friday, I’m going to go ahead and tell the world, how I was robbed by my suppose to be (sic) parents. That’s the deadline. Better call Fred and everyone else involved. Think how it will look when this comes out,” stated another alleged text from Oher.
The Tuohys maintained legal control over Oher’s finances through a conservatorship until he was 37.
Oher has filed lawsuits against the family and allegedly made threats to expose them unless they paid him $15 million.
The Tuohys have described Oher’s accusations as an attempted “shakedown.”
