Rep. Byron Donalds responded to the Biden administration’s call for more aid to Ukraine by emphasizing the need to secure the southern border first.

Donalds criticized national security adviser Jake Sullivan and the White House for their handling of various international and domestic issues, stating that Republicans will not consider supplemental funding for anything until the border is secured.

“Jake Sullivan is wrong,” Donalds said. (Trending: Elon Musk Condemns Arrest Of Jan 6 Protester)

“Why would we be surprised? He is the adviser to Joe Biden who has been wrong at every single point throughout the Ukrainian conflict, throughout what happened in Afghanistan.”

“And, of course, what is happening now with our greatest ally in the region in Israel. He is wrong.”

“But I have another message for Jake Sullivan and the White House: secure the southern border. That’s it,” Donalds added.

“If you do that, then there is people in Congress who will be willing to listen and to talk to. But before that’s done, there is nothing to talk about.”

“They have to do their job,” Donalds said of Democrats.

“Why would we continue to fund other operations in the world if our border remains unsecured?”

House Speaker Mike Johnson reportedly indicated that he does not have the votes to tie Ukraine aid to additional border funding, a move preferred by GOP members of the Senate.
