Vice President Kamala Harris’s proposal to strengthen the Palestinian Authority to assume security responsibilities in Gaza was criticized on social media.
Harris outlined three areas of focus for post-conflict Gaza: reconstruction, security, and governance, emphasizing the need for the Palestinian Authority to be revitalized and benefit from the rule of law and a transparent government.

Harris believes the Palestinian Authority “must be strengthened to eventually assume security responsibilities in Gaza.”
“The Palestinian Authority must be revitalized, driven by the will of the Palestinian people,” she said, stating a revitalization would “allow them to benefit from the rule of law and a transparent responsive government.”
