The national organization for Black Lives Matter criticized a former Rhode Island BLM advocate’s endorsement of former President Donald Trump as a “publicity stunt,” calling him an “imposter” and not affiliated with their group.

“This is a publicity stunt,” said the BLM and the Black Lives Matter Rhode Island PAC’s parent organization.

“The right-wing continues to use and amplify fringe Black voices to create an idea of broad support for their corrupt candidates,” they continued.
BLM and the Black Lives Matter Rhode Island PAC both stated that Fisher was not associated with either of them.
“Anyone can start an organization and add the words Black Lives Matter to it in an attempt to muddy the waters of our movement, as Mark Fisher tried to do,” the statement read.
“To be clear, Donald Trump is a terrorist who committed treason and tried to subvert American democracy. He is no friend to Black people seeking to live in a just society,” posted the controversial non-profit.
Adding, “And we in NO WAY support him.”
