Former Rep. Liz Cheney warns that a potential reelection of former President Donald Trump could lead the United States closer to a dictatorship.
She believes that the Republicans in Congress have been co-opted and that the country is “sleepwalking into a dictatorship.”
Cheney’s concerns are detailed in her new book, “Oath and Honor: A Memoir and a Warning,” and are based on her experiences during the events of January 6, 2021. (Trending: Disgraced Democrat Sued For Sexual Assault)

John Dickerson said, “You say, Donald Trump, if he is re-elected, it will be the end of the Republic.”
“What do you mean?,” asked Dickerson.
“He’s told us what he will do. It’s very easy to see the steps that he will take,” answered Cheney.
“People who say, ‘Well, if he’s elected, it’s not that dangerous because we have all of these checks and balances,’ don’t fully understand the extent to which the Republicans in Congress today have been co-opted,” she continued.
“One of the things that we see happening today is a sort of a sleepwalking into dictatorship in the United States,” alleged the former representative.
