Ray Dalio, founder of Bridgewater Associates, expressed concern about the potential impact of a rerun of the divisive 2020 Trump-Biden election, emphasizing the need for a strong middle ground in American politics.
He highlighted the risks posed by extreme polarization and called for a return to a more centrist approach to bridge ideological divides.
Dalio also discussed potential Republican candidates for the 2024 election, particularly focusing on Nikki Haley as a leading candidate. (Trending: Greta Thunberg Caught on Video Going Full Anti-Semite)
“I pray that we do not have another Trump-Biden election because that will produce a lot of problems,” said Dalio.
“What we need is a very strong middle,” declared Dalio.
“We have irreconcilable differences by sides that will not accept losing,” lamented the billionaire.
“No good government, no good society exists with this kind of fighting, charged the successful investor.
Adding, “This is not good governance; it has big implications and can have a big economic and tax impact.”
“Nikki Haley is the leading candidate from my point of view. She’s smart, can work across party lines, has the quality of the character and she’s been through the system,” said Dalio about the South Carolina republican.
“If Haley did get the nomination (from Republicans), she would be the probable winner in a presidential election,” predicted Dalio.
“Almost everybody would say that,” he added.
“The question is whether Biden runs. The combination of his age issue, his popularity and so on is a problem,” admitted the billionaire.
He underscored the importance of reforms to ensure the political system works for the majority and expressed apprehension about the future of the United States.
