President Joe Biden has privately pointed to his unconditional public support of Israel and initial successes in influencing its government as vindication of his advice, which was dismissed by President Barack Obama and his aides.
Biden believes his approach of hugging Israel close but not criticizing them is the right strategy and has confidence in its effectiveness despite criticism and pressure to change course.
However, there are growing disagreements between the Biden administration and the Israeli government, with concerns about civilian casualties and the influence of Biden’s approach on the postwar future of Gaza. (Trending: Biden Shamefully Removes God From National Address)

“If this was the Obama years, we would’ve been a lot more publicly critical than we have been by now,” a senior administration official stated.
“And that wouldn’t work. We wouldn’t have the influence.”
John Kirby, a spokesperson for the National Security Council said Biden “believes right down to his core that the approach he’s been taking is getting results.”
“The approach we’re taking now is working,” Kirby added.
“This is completely different,” said Aaron David Miller, a senior fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
“The Israelis are all in.”
Biden has expressed frustration with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s handling of the war and believes that expressing stronger support for Israel’s right to defend itself is essential.
“He didn’t think we should be criticizing the Israelis, and Obama did,” a former senior administration official stated of the President.
