Former Rep. Liz Cheney’s new book, “Oath and Honor,” provides an unflinching account of the Republican Party’s support for Donald Trump and his attempts to overturn the 2020 election.
Cheney criticizes her former colleagues for their willingness to violate their oath to the Constitution out of political expediency and loyalty to Trump.
She specifically targets former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy and House Speaker Mike Johnson for their complicity. (Trending: Donald Trump Confronts Bud Light CEO)

“As a nation, we can endure damaging policies for a four-year term. But we cannot survive a president willing to terminate our Constitution,” wrote Cheney.
“So strong is the lure of power that men and women who had once seemed reasonable and responsible were suddenly willing to violate their oath to the Constitution out of political expediency and loyalty to Donald Trump,” continued the Wyoming Republican.
According to Trump spokesman Steven Cheung, Cheney’s book belongs “in the fiction section of the bookstore,”
Adding, “These are nothing more than completely fabricated stories.”
“When I confronted him with the flaws in his legal arguments,” wrote Cheney about Rep. Mike Johnson.
“Johnson would often concede, or say something to the effect of, ‘We just need to do this one last thing for Trump,’” alleged Cheney.
Cheney warns that the Constitution’s checks and balances will not hold if Trump is reelected in 2024 and vows to do whatever is necessary to stop him.
Throughout the book, Cheney describes how she saw her Republican colleagues go from condemning Trump to falling back in line and supporting his claims of election fraud.
Cheney also openly mocks McCarthy for being summoned to Florida because Trump was allegedly not eating.
McCarthy’s office denied these claims.
