NATO reaffirms long-term support for Ukraine and confirms that all members agree Ukraine will join the alliance, pending reforms and the end of the war.
Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg emphasized the need for Ukraine to meet NATO standards and cease hostilities before membership.

However, previous statements have been met with criticism from some NATO members, like Hungary and Germany, who urge caution and emphasize that Ukraine does not currently meet NATO criteria.
Despite this, Ukraine remains eager to join NATO and the European Union, with President Zelensky considering Ukraine a de facto NATO member.
Both organizations see Ukraine’s future membership as inevitable but contingent on reforms and the resolution of the conflict.
