Some midwives are complaining that the new EPIC computer system is imposing gender identities on newborns, leading to a “climate of fear” and the use of terms like ‘birthing parent’ and ‘chest-feeding’ instead of ‘mother’ and ‘breast-feeding’.
Women’s rights campaigners argue that this is due to the influence of pro-transgender activists, while NHS bosses claim it is a “system error” that is being corrected.
Critics argue that gender identity is not relevant for newborns, and that it does not erase the importance of sex. (Trending: Biden Shamefully Removes God From National Address)

“The hospital discharge summary is an important document for the baby to receive the best care from the whole NHS team,” one midwife pressed.
“We are talking about newborn and very young babies here. What on earth has gender identity as a concept got to do with them? It’s ludicrous.”

“Gender identity is important later in life but it never erases the importance of sex.”
Recording sex accurately at birth is the bedrock of our official identity. It is information that is needed throughout your life.
