Former NFL Player Announces Run Bid For Congress As A Republican

Former Crimson Tide and NFL defensive end Wallace Gilberry is running in the crowded Republican primary for Alabama’s newly drawn Second Congressional District.

The district has attracted candidates from across the state, with 21 candidates qualifying to run for the seat.

Gilberry will be reportedly competing against 7 others to represent the GOP on the ballot. (Trending: Chilling Surveillance Program Under Biden Exposed)

Gilberry, who had a nine-year NFL career, transitioned directly into being an entrepreneur, running his own trucking company and promotions team.

He was confirmed by the Alabama Republican Party as a candidate for the primary in the upcoming election.
