Del Rio Sector Border Patrol agents arrested 21 criminal aliens with prior convictions for sex offenses, many involving crimes against children.
These offenders were apprehended after illegally crossing the border, and all migrants undergo background checks to prevent re-entry.

“Due to the hard work and dedication of our agents, these dangerous individuals were not able to enter our country,” Chief Bernal stated.
The number of encounters with criminal migrants has increased in recent years, with 15,267 encounters in FY23, up from 2,438 in FY2020.
In October alone, agents encountered 1,559 criminal aliens.

Del Rio agents apprehended an undocumented migrant and record checks revealed that the subject had a Felony Conviction for Aggravated Sexual Assault to a child.
