A recent survey by Spokeo found that 66.6% of American workers believe AI could do their jobs, and 74.8% are concerned about its impact on their industry.
Despite this, 78.1% are optimistic about AI reducing job stress, and 79.1% think employers should offer training for AI tools.
Spokeo CEO Harrison Tang noted the conflict in public perception, with long-term benefits seen but short-term concerns, and emphasized the need for business leaders to address these fears. (Trending: Chilling Surveillance Program Under Biden Exposed)
Tang also expressed confidence in humanity’s ability to adapt to AI and control it for good, stating that AI will not replace humans, but those who don’t embrace it.
“After a year of headlines about AI taking over the world, it’s no surprise that 2 in 3 now think that AI could do their job,” Spokeo CEO Harrison Tang told FOX Business.
“We never would have dreamed of how impactful ChatGPT would be on the world.”
“Whether it’s because people realize that a lot of work can be easily automated, or they believe the hype in the media that AI is more advanced and powerful than it is, the AI box has now been opened.”
“The poll found U.S. workers are optimistic about what AI could mean for the future of work, with 78.1% saying they believe the technology could reduce some of the stresses on the job, and 76.7% saying they think AI will reduce the number of working days in the week for the average American,” the report found.
“The vast majority of those surveyed, 79.1%, said they think employers should offer training for ChatGPT and other AI tools,” the report added.
“While AI sounds omniscient, we should have confidence in humanity’s ability to adapt, which we’ve done through millions of years of evolution,” Tang said. “AI is simply a tool that we can use and control for good. AI will not replace humans, but it will replace those who don’t embrace it.”
