Gates is delighted by the sport’s sudden popularity and its accessibility to people of all ages.
“I love both sports, so it is funny to watch the fight over the court space and which one’s better,” Gates said of the debate over pickleball and tennis.
“They’re both amazing.”
“I look forward to playing a pickleball game with friends and family at least once a week and more often during the summer,” he said separately.
Additionally, there have been developments in the professional segment of pickleball, with Major League Pickleball and the PPA Tour coming together under a unified professional pickleball holding company with $50 million in backing.
