An electric bus operated by Google suffered a power loss and rolled down a hill, crashing into nine vehicles in San Francisco.

The incident was posted on social media, and the cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The reaction on social media was mixed, with some criticizing electric vehicles and others expressing support.

Xian Ke made a post on X about the incident, and included a video that she obtained.

“Some local journalists need to be on this: ‘A google bus lost its power while going up the hill and roll back and hit 9 cars this morning outside of my place’ (Castro district, SF). Video from my friend below,” wrote Ke.

KTVU News reported that the crash “remains under investigation,” and “[n]either the SFPD nor Google explained what caused the collision.”

Critics have questioned the rush to push electric vehicles into government services without proper testing in the private sector.
