New York City Mayor Eric Adams is facing allegations of sexual assault from a woman who worked with him in 1993, demanding $5 million in damages.
Adams denies knowing the woman and refutes the claims.
“The mayor does not know who this person is. If they ever met, he doesn’t recall it,” a spokesperson said.
“But he would never do anything to physically harm another person and vigorously denies any such claim.”
The allegations come amid controversy over Adams’ criticism of President Biden’s immigration policy and budget cuts in response to the city’s migrant influx.
The proposed budget cuts include reductions in the police force, raising concerns about public safety amidst rising crime rates in the city.
