A recent survey of 1,200 American adults found that there is strong bipartisan support for term limits for members of Congress and the U.S. Senate, with 81% of respondents in favor.

Additionally, over three-quarters of adults also support age limits for federally elected officials.

The survey indicates that these issues have broad support across Democrats, independents, and Republicans, suggesting that they could be potential solutions to improve the performance and favorability of elected officials.

Term limits reportedly received 80% support among Democrat, 81% among Independent, and 82% among Republican voters.

Age limits also received bipartisan support from 80% among Democrats and 81% among Republicans.

Congress rarely votes to limit their own power, but lawmakers like Ted Cruz have publicly discussed the issue.
