In a hypothetical 2024 Democratic primary survey without President Biden, Vice President Harris leads with 32 percent support, followed by Hillary Clinton at 20 percent.
Other contenders include Pete Buttigieg, Gavin Newsom, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
Despite Biden’s expected reelection campaign, polling shows tepid support from Democratic voters, with many preferring another candidate for the party’s nominee in 2024.
“I hope he runs. I’m for him if he runs. I know that the Democrats will fully embrace him,” Nancy Pelosi said of Biden.
“If he runs, it’s over.”
Harris’s leading position in the survey coincides with low approval ratings, while Nancy Pelosi expressed support for Biden’s potential reelection bid.
