Former College Park mayor and LGBTQ activist, Patrick Wojahn, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison after pleading guilty to 140 charges related to child pornography.

The conviction followed the discovery of illicit images linked to his government email.

Wojahn, who will be eligible for parole in 7.5 years, expressed remorse during the hearing. (Trending: Biden Baffles Thanksgiving Guests With Bizarre Joke)

The court heard victim impact statements detailing the struggles of 52 child victims.

Despite declarations of support and citing Wojahn’s past as a sexual abuse victim, the judge referred him to a treatment-oriented maximum-security prison.

“I do sense the remorsefulness,” Prince George’s County Circuit Court Judge Karen Mason stated.

“And I do know you take responsibility.”

Wojahn apologized in court and expressed a desire to redeem himself.

“I want to be the person they know me to be,” he said to College Park before turning to his partner. “I love you, too, very much.”
