Senator John Kennedy made a derogatory comment about Vice President Kamala Harris during an interview, insinuating that she is unintelligent.
The remark was widely criticized as both racist and misogynistic.

Kennedy attempted to soften his insult by suggesting it was the public’s conclusion, but the comment sparked outrage on social media.
“Again, I’m not saying that’s fair or accurate, but that’s the conclusion today that the American public have reached,” he added.
This is not the first time Kennedy has made comments about Harris that have been perceived as racially coded, as he previously made remarks about her articulation.
