Brigitte Macron, wife of French President Emmanuel Macron, recently shared her early relationship anxieties, citing concerns about their age difference and the impact on her children.
They met when she was a teacher and he was her student, causing significant anxiety.
The couple eventually married, with Brigitte waiting a decade to ensure the marriage wouldn’t upset her family.

“My head was in a mess.” recalled Brigitte Macron during an interview.
“For me, such a young boy was crippling,” she lamented.
“Emmanuel had to leave for Paris,” continued Macron.
Adding, “I told myself that he would fall in love with someone his [own] age.”
“It didn’t happen,” she concluded.
Brigitte defended the relationship in the past by reportedly saying, “there are times in your life where you need to make vital choices.”
“Of course, we have breakfast together, me and my wrinkles, him with his youth, but it’s like that,” assured Brigitte.
“If I did not make that choice, I would have missed out on my life, claimed the former teacher.
Macron explained that she “had a lot of happiness with my children and, at the same time, felt I had to live ‘this love’ as Prevert used to say, to be fully happy.”
Macron became the youngest president of France at 39, roughly the same age she was when they met.
