President Joe Biden warmly greeted Chinese President Xi Jinping, despite the growing perception of China as the greatest threat to the United States.

The meeting, captured in a White House video, showed Biden and Xi discussing critical issues such as climate change, counter-narcotics, and economic recovery.

“Well, Mr. President, it’s good to see you again,” Biden stated, clearing reading a script. (Trending: Judge Issue Major Ruling On Transgender Procedures For Kids)

“We’ve spend many hours together over the last 10 or 12 years, and to host you in the United States is a great honor and a pleasure.”

Both leaders emphasized the importance of the China-U.S. relationship, despite the prevailing sentiment among Americans that China poses the greatest threat to the U.S., as indicated by a recent poll.

“For two large countries like China and the United States,” Xi pressed, “turning their back on each other is not an option.”
