Eight Republicans joined Democrats in voting against the impeachment of Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, effectively tabling the resolution to impeach him.

There were also 12 “No Votes” from both parties.

Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC)
Rep. Ken Buck (R-CO)
Rep. John Duarte (R-CA)
Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA)
Rep. Mike Turner (R-OH)
Rep. Cliff Bentz (R-OR)
Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC)
Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA)

She urged Republicans to vote against tabling the motion.

“Our border is wide open and Americans are dying everyday. It’s time for Congress to hold the Biden administration accountable,” wrote the Georgia Republican.

“It’s time to IMPEACH Mayorkas,” added Greene.

“Tonight, the House will vote on the Democrat motion to table (kill) my articles of impeachment against Mayorkas,” she explained.

Greene insisted that “Every Republican should stand strong and vote AGAINST the motion.”

“A vote to table is a vote with Democrats to protect Mayorkas and against impeachment,” she warned.

The failure to secure enough Republican votes is seen as a lack of confidence in addressing the Biden border crisis, with concerns about potential impact on the 2024 elections.
