Alina Habba, an attorney representing President Trump in his New York civil fraud trial, has announced plans to file a plea for a mistrial before Judge Arthur Engoron.

Habba cited a gag order that limits what she can discuss, and expressed her concerns about the judicial system.

“We have a gag order currently against certain issues that we can’t speak to, and we have seen this on many cases of [Trump’s], Habba said. (Trending: Supreme Court Dismisses Case To Keep Trump Off Ballot)

“It’s a First Amendment right. He’s also a leading candidate.”

“He has a right to speak. He should speak about anybody and anything that he sees that’s corrupt. But even I have a limited gag order.”

Habba also mentioned the potential filing for recusal due to concerns surrounding the judge’s impartiality.

She has acknowledged, however, that the same judge who issued the gag order would have to decide on these matters, creating potential challenges.

“It’s the same judge that issued the gag order that has to make those determinations, so at this point, I don’t have any reason to believe he shouldn’t after what we have learned if it’s true,” Habba said. (Trending: Donald Trump Gets Great News)

“I will tell you that it’s concerning when he is the arbiter and the decision-maker of some of these issues.”
