Young people in New York City admitted that their negative views of Israel were shaped by pro-Palestinian content on TikTok and Instagram, as well as by their teachers.

They attended rallies and protests after being influenced by graphic content depicting the Israel-Hamas conflict.

Social media played a significant role in galvanizing anti-Israel sentiment, with pro-Palestinian videos being significantly more popular than pro-Israel content on TikTok.

New Utrecht High School students Zara Asif and Manoor Javed shed some light on wha they’ve seen on social media.

Asif said, “They’re posting pictures of babies with their skulls and their brains leaking out,”

Adding, “It’s mostly [pictures] of little kids that get pushed out on there the most.”

“Everyone’s pushing and everyone is posting and that’s how we’re going to make a difference,” said Haved about the environment at his school.

“We won’t quit — ever,” promised the 16 year old.

The surge in anti-Israeli sentiment was compared to the Arab Spring, with some protestors tearing down posters of Israeli hostages.

“I think social media has played a role, you saw the same thing with the Arab spring,” claimed Sebastian Grant.

“That started a swell 10 years ago and you’re seeing the same thing now,” he added.

The influence of TikTok, owned by China, in shaping opinions and its potential national security threat were also highlighted.
