Liberal comedian Bill Maher criticized former President Barack Obama for creating a moral equivalency between Hamas’ terrorist attacks and Israel’s response.
Maher emphasized the difference between collateral damage and Hamas’ actions, as well as Israel’s efforts to provide evacuation corridors for Palestinians.
“I must say I am struggling with people’s moral equivalency, still,” Maher said. (Trending: Court Hands Down Crucial 2nd Amendment Ruling)

“I mean, Barack Obama, who has rarely disappointed me, did so this week. I mean, his statement. I mean, it’s not a horrible statement. But he said, if you want to solve the problem, then you have to take in the whole truth and then you have to admit nobody’s hands are clean.”
“There’s a big difference in collateral damage and what Hamas did,” Maher added.
“So people say, ‘Oh, wow, big of them,’ Okay. But it is a war that the other side started,” he pressed. “So interesting when they fire at Israel, it’s a war, and when Israel fires back, it’s a war crime. A little crazy. So — and also, would Hamas do that? Would they give [a] four hour pause? No. No pausing.”
He also praised Israel for firing a minister who suggested using nuclear weapons on Gaza.

“And then Israel’s Heritage Minister was asked in an interview about using a nuke on Gaza, and he said that’s one of the possibilities,” he said. “He was fired, not allowed in the cabinet meeting anymore, disavowed by the prime minister. Would that happen in reverse? So enough with the moral equivalencies, please.”
Maher highlighted the issue of Islamic fanaticism and the reluctance to address it due to concerns about Islamophobia.
