New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers is aiming for a mid-December return after suffering a torn Achilles.
Despite initial doubts, Rodgers is determined to get back on the field, working on his recovery primarily through weight-limiting exercises.
“He said, ‘I know it sounds insane, but you do a good surgery, you have a good patient, it makes this possible,’” NBC’s Melissa Stark quoted the quarterback saying. (Trending: Supreme Court Dismisses Case To Keep Trump Off Ballot)
While there was some playful banter regarding his return timeline, a mid-December comeback could potentially give him four games to play before the season comes to an end.
“I mean, obviously, that was said with a little tongue in cheek there. It’d be nice to be back in a couple weeks, but that’s probably not anywhere near a realistic timeline,” Rodgers told “The Pat McAfee Show.”
“It could be a few, it could be a lot. It’s more of a phrase that didn’t have a specific timetable. I said it smiling, joking… obviously it’s gonna be more than a couple weeks.”
