The war in Ukraine between Kyiv and Moscow is intensifying, with both sides suffering significant casualties.
Social media has provided insight into the destruction in Marinka, where Ukrainian forces targeted Russian artillery.
The town, now nearly destroyed, has a history of terrors and has been compared to an “urban hellscape.” The ongoing fighting has even drawn comparisons to the Battle of Stalingrad.

“Downtown Maryinka has been cleared of enemy troops. Almost all high-rise buildings that served as serious fortified positions for the enemy are under our control. Only a small part of Maryinka is left where the enemy can hold its ground,” DPR head Denis Pushlin said.
The Russian militia claims to have “liberated” 80% of Marinka, but the town remains destroyed and deserted.
