Rep. Claudia Tenney introduced an amendment to reduce White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre’s salary to $1, citing repeated lies and condescending behavior from Jean-Pierre.
Tenney listed various instances of false statements and criticized the press secretary’s history of anti-Semitism.
“I rise today to offer an amendment to reduce the salary of Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House press secretary, to $1,” the New York Republican said. (Trending: Supreme Court Dismisses Case To Keep Trump Off Ballot)

“Mr. Speaker, during Ms. Jean-Pierre’s tenure as press secretary, she has repeatedly lied to the American people, and acted in a condescending manner toward reporters, and also violated the Hatch Act.”
“How can somebody with such a history of deceit continue to serve as the liaison for the president and the American people?” Tenney pressed in a video.
The amendment was objected to by Rep. Steny Hoyer, who called it “unserious.”
“We’ve had over 50 of these,” he said. “Every one that has been put to a roll call vote has lost. This one will as well, I hope.”
A similar amendment targeting Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg’s salary has passed in the House.
However, the likelihood of the amendment being included in the final budget is low, given the Democrat-controlled Senate’s stance.
