Real estate mogul Robert Bigelow, a major donor to Ron DeSantis’ 2024 presidential campaign, is considering withdrawing support from the Florida governor and backing Donald Trump instead.
Bigelow expressed a preference for Trump as a strong commander, citing the need for a “streetwise” leader and criticizing DeSantis’ focus on conservatism.
He also highlighted concerns about a six-week abortion bill signed by DeSantis and indicated that Trump’s momentum and moderate social stance make him a stronger candidate. (Trending: Meet The Ultra Rich Megadonors Behind Democrats)

“I’ve got to look at who would probably be the strongest commander, with the most experience … And that’s only one guy,” Bigelow said.
“Who would you want as a commander?” Bigelow pressed.
“I’d want somebody that would be a hell of an ass kicker if he needed to be. On the face of it, you lean toward Trump.”
“Six weeks, she just found out she’s pregnant, the odds are,” Bigelow said. “It’s a sham. It’s make-believe. It’s condescending.”
“If I had a nickel for every naysayer I’ve had in my life, I’d be a very, very wealthy man,” said DeSantis.
Recent polls show Trump leading the Republican field, with DeSantis losing support in his home state of Florida.
“I think Trump is too strong,” Bigelow expressed of Trump. “I think Trump has the momentum . .. to beat him.”
