In an online sting operation targeting child sex predators, a multi-agency task force in Las Vegas has arrested 17 suspects.
Undercover agents posed as underage individuals and set up meetings with the suspects, resulting in their arrests.

According to the police report, “subjects are much more likely to encourage a child to produce child sexual abuse material […] to use these platforms to speak and possibly coordinate a meeting date/time and location for sexual contact with a child.”
“The user later agreed to meet the decoy for sexual contact at a predetermined meeting location” wrote the investigating officers.
“The sexual contact included having sex in the backseat of the subject’s car,” concluded the police.
In a release to the media, police advised, “The LVMPD would like to remind parents to discuss with their children the dangers of online chats with strangers.”
Adding, “parents are encouraged to routinely monitor their children’s activity on social media and other online applications to prevent them from becoming victims of a child sex predator.”
The arrested individuals have been charged with luring a minor with a computer to engage in sex.
