The White House has objected to subpoenas issued by House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer for the Bidens to testify in the House impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.

Comer wants to question family associate Rob Walker about a $3 million payment received by him and split between four Biden family members.

Additionally, Comer asked whistleblowers and several family members to appear before the committee.

The White House called the subpoenas “nasty personal smears.”

“They’re all private citizens,” Ian Sams, White House spokesperson said. “He won’t be, but Comer should be ashamed of desperately resorting to nasty personal smears like this.”

This comes after Comer previously issued subpoenas for the Bidens’ bank records, which revealed direct financial links between the Biden family business and Joe Biden.
