The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is protesting a gag order imposed on former President Donald Trump by U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan.
Many have expressed concern over the order, as it reveals the power of individuals within the American judicial system to unfairly come after those whom they disagree with.
Notably, if a former President of the United States can be unjustly ordered by a court, the average American stands no chance in a similar circumstance. (Trending: Is It Time For Joe Biden To Drop Out Of 2024?)

“They’re not coming after me. They’re coming after you, and I’m just in the way,” Trump stated.
The order prohibits Trump from making statements targeting the prosecutor, witnesses, or the judge herself.
The ACLU argues that the gag order violates Trump’s First Amendment rights and the public’s right to hear his views. (Trending: CNN Poll Is Bad News For Biden)
They highlight historical cases where courts struck down similar gag orders, emphasizing the importance of protecting defendants’ rights and freedom of speech.
The ACLU’s stance is seen as separating politics from principles and defending the rights of the accused.
