The Biden administration has responded to a surge of attacks against U.S. troops in the Middle East with a significant military show of force, including the arrival of a nuclear-powered submarine and bomber deployments.
Iran-backed militias have carried out seven additional attacks on bases hosting U.S. troops, bringing the total to 38.

“It is important to note, in some cases service members may report injuries such as TBI several days after attacks occur, so numbers may change,” Pentagon Press Secretary Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder stated.
“We will continue to work closely with U.S. Central Command to provide updates as appropriate.”
The military deployments aim to deter conflict escalation and oppose American support for Israel amid the Israel-Hamas conflict.
Additionally, a U.S. Air Force B-1 Lancer strategic bomber mission and joint drills with the Italian navy were conducted in the region.
