A 14-year-old Florida student died after going into cardiac arrest during a Junior ROTC athletic event.
Knox MacEwen collapsed during a 5K run and was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The incident has saddened the school community, and the principal has informed families about the tragic event.

“I am saddened to share tragic news impacting our Wildcat community,” principal Jimmy Arrojo wrote.
“One of our JROTC students passed away this morning after being transported to the hospital.”
