Republican Rep. Kay Granger of Texas is reportedly planning to retire, according to inside sources.
Granger, who is 80 years old and currently serving her 14th term in the House, has not confirmed the retirement but sources claim she has made the decision.
“I think she’s tired. She’s accomplished so much,” one source stated.

Granger is the chair of the House Appropriations Committee and is considered a powerful figure in Texas politics.
The filing period to run for her Congressional seat opens in November.
Granger was part of the group of House Republicans who opposed Rep. Jim Jordan’s bid to become Speaker of the House.
She allegedly received threats during the speaker selection process but stated that intimidation would not change her position.
