A pro-Palestinian protester confronted Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman about his defense for Israel following the attack by Hamas.

The protester questioned Fetterman’s support for a humanitarian ceasefire and criticized the high number of casualties in Gaza.

An aide attempted to intervene, but the protestor insisted on speaking with the senator. (Trending: It’s Time For Donald Trump To Drop Out)

Eventually, the aide forcefully pushed the protestor out of the restaurant.

“I voted for you!” the protester said to Sen. Fetterman.

“Why didn’t you support a humanitarian ceasefire?” the older man asks before an aide appears on camera to offer to speak with him.

“No! I can talk to – I voted for him, I can talk… I’m sorry, this is a democracy!” the man shouts.

“It absolutely is,” the aide replies. (Trending: Judge Declines To Recuse From Trump 2024 Ballot Case)

“Ten thousand people in Gaza have been killed. Half are children. The pope’s calling for a ceasefire. The U.N. has called for… I’m just asking you. You’re a good guy. I voted for ya! I know you’re a nice guy,” the man continues.

“This is important,” he adds.

“Can I ask the senator a question!” shouts the man.

The incident highlights the divide within the Democratic Party regarding calls for a ceasefire, with elected members supporting Israel while the party’s base defends Palestinians.

Some progressive House Democrats have faced criticism for refusing to denounce Hamas.
