Gov. Phil Murphy (D-NJ) is seeking reimbursement from the NJ Democratic Party for $12,000 in stadium event purchases used at a Taylor Swift concert, and additional events, after the Governor used New Jersey taxpayer money to cover the expenses.

When Murphy was pressed as to why the expenses were covered with state funds, his office argued that they had planned all along for the Democrat Part to foot the bill.

Murphy’s office used their personal expense account to pay for the expenses, an account meant for “Official Receptions, Official Residence, and Other Official Expenses.” (Trending: It’s Time For Donald Trump To Drop Out)

“Once it was clear that there were outstanding bills that had not been paid, the state stepped up to meet this responsibility,” Murphy office stated.

Murphy’s office reportedly spent over $900 on food and drinks at the Taylor Swift concert, more than $2,000 at a USA vs. Brazil soccer event, more than $2,000 at an NFL game, over $1400 at a Summer Jam concert, nearly $3,000 for a USA vs. Mexico soccer event, and nearly $2,500 at another NFL game.
