The release of the eighth installment of the “Mission: Impossible” franchise has been delayed by one year due to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.
Tom Cruise, who stars in the film and performs his own stunts, has faced production problems in the past, including an ankle injury during the filming of “Mission: Impossible – Fallout.”
The pandemic also caused shutdowns and delays for the franchise. Cruise has been praised for his dedication to performing his own stunts, despite the risks involved. (Trending: Joe Biden Historic Take Down of Guns)

Director Christopher McQuarrie said, “He was always supposed to slam into the side of the building. That’s what gives the stunt its energy. On the fourth try, he hit the building at a slightly different angle, and he broke his ankle.”
“I didn’t want to do it again,” Cruise said about the accident.
“I knew instantly it was broken, and I just run past camera. We got the shot, it’s in the movie. That profile shot, both the shots are in the movie. . . . I just went, I said, ‘Sorry guys, it’s broken. Take me to the hospital, it’s broken. That’s a wrap.'”
“I am a very physical actor, and I love doing them,” Cruise said. “I study and train and take a lot of time figuring it all out. I have broken a lot of bones.” (Trending: Donald Trump Is A ‘Cockroach’ That Just Won’t Go Away)

“The first time of any stunt is nerve-wracking, but it’s also exhilarating. I have been told a few times during shooting a stunt to stop smiling.”
Despite setbacks, “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One” and “Top Gun: Maverick” were successful at the box office.
Cruise has emphasized that his films will not be released on streaming networks and has achieved significant box office success with his movies.
